We dedicate our time to providing free English language instruction to adults. Our mission is to help learners read, write, and speak confidently, opening doors to new opportunities and a brighter future.
Our Programs
Our flexible programs and classes are designed to support the full range of ESL and LES learners in our community. From beginner to advanced levels, we offer tailored learning experiences to enhance language skills and promote literacy. Classes are offered online or in person, in group or 1:1 sessions.
English as a Second Language (ESL)
For adults whose first language isn’t English. These classes help learners build skills in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English for everyday life, work, and community engagement.
Literacy for English Speakers (LES)
For adults who speak English fluently but want to improve their reading and writing skills. These classes support learners at all levels, helping them gain confidence and independence.
Our approach meets learners where they are—whether just beginning or building on existing skills. We focus on progression at a comfortable pace, with 1–2 sessions per week. The approach we take with each student is based on his or her individual goals and needs, using tools and techniques such as the ones listed below.
Phonics-Based
Tutors break down words into parts using phonics, repetition, and word-picture associations. This builds a strong foundation for reading, writing, and speaking English.
Real-World Practice
Through storytelling, role-playing, and everyday scenarios, learners apply their skills in ways that are meaningful and applicable to daily life—from shopping and job interviews to doctor visits and conversations.
Multi-Sensory
We engage all learning styles—seeing, hearing, hands-on activities, and speaking—so learners fully absorb the language. This multi-sensory approach reinforces understanding and helps learning stick.
Repetition
Repetition helps reinforce key language patterns and concepts. Learners revisit sounds, words, and sentence structures to strengthen fluency and understanding.
Essential Skills
The program focuses on developing word recognition, spelling, vocabulary, and reading comprehension—core skills that support independence and lifelong learning.
Language Breakdown
We break down language into smaller, manageable parts to help learners clearly see how words and sentences are structured, making literacy more approachable.
