About South Bay Literacy Council

The South Bay Literacy Council is a South Bay Los Angeles-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We focus on teaching adults to speak, read, and write English effectively in order to better function in today's complex society.

Comprised entirely of volunteers, we serve residents of all 18 South Bay cities and communities (Torrance, Lomita, Harbor City, Wilmington, San Pedro, Carson, Gardena, Lawndale, Hawthorne, Inglewood, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, and El Segundo) in several tutoring locations around the South Bay.
